Spokane Booking Releases Roster

The fastest way to look up a Spokane booking is the live inmate roster run by Spokane County Detention Services. You can view the Spokane County Inmate Roster from any browser. The page is the front door to find a person held in the main jail or at Geiger Corrections. Type a last name, first name, or booking number. Results show charge, booking date, and bail amount when set.

The image below is from the Detention Services dashboard. It shows where to start a name search and the contact line.

If you cannot find a person on the roster, the booking may still be in pre-booking. Pre-booking can take a few hours.

For background on the jail, the Spokane County Jail Information hub covers the mission, services, and facility list. It also gives the main phone line for the jail. Many users skip this page and go straight to the roster, but it helps to know which facility holds the person you want.

Here is the jail information hub layout. It links to roster, visiting, mail, and bail pages all from one spot.

Bail and Bond in Spokane

Bail rules shape when a Spokane booking release happens. Court hours, judge orders, and after-hours bond steps all matter. The county posts the rules on the Spokane County Bail or Bond Posting page. Read it before you head to the jail.

The screenshot below shows the bail page. It lists court hours and the after-hours process.

Most bond agents in town know these rules cold. Still, read the page so you know what to expect.

If you want to see what happens right after booking, the Spokane County Booking and Classification page walks through the pre-booking period and the steps staff take to place each new inmate. It is a short read but helpful.

The classification step often slows down a release. Plan for some wait time.

Spokane Booking Releases Records Requests

The roster shows the basics. For paper records, you must file a public records request. The county handles its own jail records and the city handles Spokane Police records. Both work under the Public Records Act, RCW 42.56. You can read the rules on the RCW Chapter 42.56 page.

For jail records, start at the Spokane County Jail Records Release page. It explains what is public and what is held back under RCW 70.48.100.

Some items, like booking photos, are exempt. The page lists the rules in plain words.

For Spokane Police Department records, the city points you to a dedicated page. You can request Spokane Police reports here. Records Manager Terri Giannetto runs the unit at 1100 West Mallon Avenue. The phone is (509) 625-4032. Walk-in hours are Tuesday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3:30 p.m.

Note: The city does not take police records requests by social media or voicemail.

Spokane Release From Custody

When a person is set to go free, the jail follows a fixed release process. The county posts the steps on the Spokane County Release from Custody page. It covers phone call rules, property pick-up, and what to bring.

The next image shows that release page. It is a short read and worth a look before you head to the jail.

Releases can happen at any hour. Call ahead so you do not miss the pickup window.

The Spokane County Sheriff's Office runs the jail and the wider county records system. The Spokane County Sheriff main page has key links and phone numbers in one place.

City of Spokane Public Records

The City of Spokane runs its own portal for general public records. The City of Spokane Public Records Portal takes online requests, lets you upload files, and tracks each request. By state law, the city must respond within five business days.

You can also reach the city clerk by mail. Send to Office of the City Clerk, 808 W. Spokane Falls Blvd., Spokane, WA 99201-3342. The clerk is Terri Pfister. The phone is (509) 625-6350. Email is tpfister@spokanecity.org.

To file a clean request, give:

  • Your name and contact info
  • The date of the event or report
  • The case number if you have it
  • The names of any people on the report
  • For body-worn camera: the time and place

The more facts you give, the faster the staff can pull the file. The city does not have to make a new record from scratch. It only has to give you what already exists.

Spokane Municipal Court Records

Some Spokane booking releases lead to a city court case, not a county case. For city cases, contact Spokane Municipal Court at 1100 West Mallon Avenue. The phone is (509) 625-4400 and the email is mcadmin@spokanecity.org. Court staff can confirm the next hearing date and the case number.

For state-level court info, the Washington Courts site has a public case search. You can use it to find filings tied to a Spokane booking release that moved up to Superior Court.
