Yakima Booking Releases by Mail
Not every Yakima booking record is online. For paper copies, you must file a public records request. The state Public Records Act, RCW 42.56, sets the rules. You can read the law on the RCW 42.56 page.
Send your written request to the Yakima County Sheriff records unit. Give them:
- Full name of the person booked
- Date of the booking or release
- Case or booking number if known
- Your name and contact info
The clerk has five business days to reply. Most simple requests are filled within that window. Complex ones may take longer if staff need to redact exempt items like booking photos.
