Tacoma Booking Releases Search

Tacoma booking releases run through two channels. The Pierce County LINX system handles the live jail roster and case files. The Tacoma Police Department keeps incident reports and city case records. To find a person held at the Pierce County Jail in downtown Tacoma, you start with LINX. To pull a written police report, you go to the city's Public Records Office. This page lists each tool, the right phone, and the steps to file a request for a Tacoma arrest record. Most lookups take only a minute or two.

Tacoma Police Records Office

The Tacoma Police Department does not run its own records portal in the way some cities do. Instead, the city handles all police records through a citywide office. You can visit the City of Tacoma Public Records Office page to start a request. The office takes requests for police reports, arrest records, and traffic collisions.

For info on the police side, you can open the Tacoma Police Department website. The department sits at 3701 South Pine Street, Tacoma, WA 98409. The main line is (253) 591-5900. The non-emergency line is (253) 798-4722.

The TPD records desk handles:

  • Police incident reports
  • Traffic collision reports
  • Body worn camera files when allowed
  • CAD reports
  • 911 audio (kept around 90 days)

For complaint policy or internal affairs info, you can read the TPD complaint process PDF. It walks through how the department handles a public complaint.

Pierce County Sheriff Records

For records held by the Pierce County Sheriff, the office runs its own request portal. You can file a Pierce County Sheriff public records request online. The records officer is at (253) 798-4800 and the email is SHRpublicrecords@piercecountywa.gov.
