Snohomish County Jail Register

The Jail Register is the main online tool for Snohomish County booking releases. Snohomish Public Records Process

Snohomish County provides records under the Public Records Act, RCW 42.56. Requestors are encouraged to first check the Commonly Requested Records list. If the record is not posted, requests go through the online Public Records Request Portal. Be specific with names, titles, subject matter, and time frames.

Public Disclosure Process and Fees

Submission goes through the Public Records Request Portal or by mail. The request must include contact info, notice that it is a PRA request, clear ID of records, and whether it seeks a list of individuals. After receipt, the requestor gets an auto-email with a tracking number. Within 5 working days the County will make records available, give a time estimate, ask for clarification, or deny the request.

Large requests may be handled in installments under RCW 42.56.080. Sheriff Locations and Contract Cities

The Courthouse 4th Floor Reception in Everett houses the Sheriff's Records, Civil, and Public Disclosure Units. Open Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 4 PM. Services include CPLs, Alien Firearms Licenses, Criminal History clearance letters, Firearms Dealer Licenses, and civil processing.

The South Precinct moved to 9901 24th Place W. Suite B, Everett. The North Precinct is in Marysville. The East Precinct is at the Sultan Police Department. Partner police departments in Snohomish, Stanwood, Gold Bar, and Granite Falls also list hours and services.

Meet Your Sheriff

Sheriff Susanna Johnson was sworn in as Snohomish County's 33rd Sheriff on January 2, 2024. She started with the office in 1990 as a patrol deputy. She rose through K-9 handler, detective, SWAT squad leader, sergeant, lieutenant, captain, and bureau chief. After retiring in 2019, she served at Bothell Police Department before returning to lead the Sheriff's Office.

The agency has over 800 employees in four bureaus: Special Investigations, Operations, Administrative Services, and Corrections. The Corrections Bureau, with more than 360 employees, runs module operations, booking, classification, counseling, records, training, inmate transport, visitation, and release. There is a full-time medical division with doctors, nurses, mental health providers, and dental.

Major David Hall serves as second-in-command of the Corrections Bureau and oversees operations and program implementation. Most jail records beyond the public roster fields are confidential under RCW 70.48.100.
