Grant County Overview
Grant County Jail Inmate Roster
The Grant County Jail Inmate Roster is the main public tool for booking releases. It is a public record under RCW 70.48.100, the state law that opens the jail register to the public. The roster shows the name of each person held, the hour and date of confinement, the cause, and the hour, date, and manner of each release. State law lets the Sheriff and the news media publish this data. Booking photos in Washington are exempt from disclosure with two narrow exceptions: when used to assist with an investigation, or when a registered sex offender is released into the community.
The roster page lives on the county site. Visit the Grant County Jail Inmate Roster page to read the policy and reach the live list. We pulled a screenshot below.
The page cites the RCW and explains how the roster connects to the live system that tracks current bookings.
Note: Roster data refreshes on a schedule, so a person just booked may take a short window to appear in the public list.
Grant County Live Inmate Portal
Grant County uses a live interactive roster hosted by 365Labs on behalf of the Sheriff's Office Community Portal. The portal is titled "Inmate List - Citizen Portal" and gives the current list of people held in the Grant County Jail. The page is branded as the Grant County Sheriff's Office Community Portal. It is the direct link the Sheriff's official site points to for real-time custody info. You can scroll the list, find names, and see basic booking details right on the page. The portal works in any modern browser.

It also links to VINE, the victim notification network, which tells you when an offender's custody status with the Grant County Sheriff's Office Jail changes. The Corrections page also points to the Custody Policy Manual. This is the right place to read up on rules before you visit or call.

Use this page when you need the rule book, the visitation schedule, or the link to sign up for VINE alerts on a specific person.
Note: VINE alerts are free, but you need to register the offender's name and your contact info first to start getting status updates.
Records Unit and Reports
The Grant County Sheriff's Office Records Unit handles report requests and background checks. Six support staff maintain and file every report. The unit holds criminal offense reports, auto collision reports, traffic citations, records of arrest, missing persons reports, and many other report types. Files are stored on a computer system that gives instant access. If you need a copy of an officer's report or a collision report, the Public Records page is the right tool. A criminal history check from this office only covers Grant County records. For a full statewide history, contact the Washington State Patrol Criminal History and Identification Section at 360-534-2000.

This is the right channel for older booking files, full arrest reports, and any record that does not show up on the live roster.
The Records Unit follows Washington's Public Records Act under RCW 42.56. The agency must answer your request within five business days. They can give the records, set a timeframe, or deny with an exemption.
